BQC – the automation solution for a fully integrated, automated sanding process.

Our BOARD QUALITY COCKPIT (BQC) offers you a sanding process with long-term stability and excellent energy efficiency. And we have the figures to prove it:

Our automation solution

  • cuts sanding power consumption by up to 38.5 MWh annually!
  • improves process control stability by up to 18.5%!
  • significantly reduces wear and tear on abrasive belts!
Interested in finding out more – and working with us to achieve these results?

Then come visit us during LIGNA 2023, which runs from May 15 to 19 this year. Our booth at the show is E28, Hall 026. Arrange a meeting with our team – we look forward to talking to you!

How did we get these BQC figures?
We tested our automation solutions during routine operation at our customers. To do this, we collected data during automated and manual runs, and then compared and analyzed these data. The end result is a statistically significant process improvement when using BQC.

Major savings due to energy efficiency

We identified, analyzed, and compared sanding performance for each individual sanding head in various operating modes. Result: Automation mode offers improved load and energy distribution, with load peaks being virtually eliminated and average power consumption for sanding being cut by 12.8%. In terms of annual energy savings, this adds up to 38.5 MWh for a 12-head machine that is operated with a capacity utilization of 85%.

Stable process control and a longer abrasive belt service life

Thanks to the more even sanding performance compared with manual control, automation mode works to reduce load peaks and the associated excessive mechanical stresses they cause. As a result, wear is significantly reduced on components like drums, pivot bearings, motors – and abrasives above all. The overall benefit is striking: a process stability uptick of 18.5%.

Another useful side-effect is reduced loads on sanding belts, with the lower level of wear and tear also making a sanding belt failure less likely. This increased cost effectiveness results in higher profits.
